46 Foot Greek Sponge Dive Boat

Greeks in Tarpon Spring, Florida, brought this boat designed from their old
country, to harvest sponges from the deep waters of the Gulf Of Mexico.
Working with hard hat diving suits for deep water dives and to stay down for
long periods of time. The Greeks in Tarpon Springs claim this hull design goes
back before Jesus time. The real Elena played a part in a TV show, Sea Hunt
and in a 1960’s movie, “Beneath The Twelve Mile Reef”.
