Steam Tugboat
Little
Ships of the Maritimes
is
pleased to offer for sale the following model.
Beatrice Bush
This is a replica of a 1905, 94-foot steam tugboat,
Beatrice Bush, a real workhorse of the Bush Terminal of Brooklyn, built in Noank,
CT. The original boat is 94 ft. LOA by 25.3 ft. beam 12.6 ft. depth.
This scale of the model, which could easily be displayed in a gallery, was built
on a scale of half an inch to a foot, this model measuring 47" in length.
Everything on this replica has been hand-crafted from scratch. The boat is planking over rib, with 80 per cent of the boat being constructed from exactly the same material as the original vessel. This vessel was not built to be an operational model but rather for display purposes.

There are all kinds of details inside the wheelhouse such as a wooden ships wheel, chart table, engine room telegraphed chain going to the whistle. Other details include running and working lights that run from a 3V battery system. Some of these details are visible in the photos presented here, and of course, more photos are available upon request. This vessel was completed May 21, 2004.
